The Tayside Slalom Regional Development Squad (RDS) started in April 07 working with paddlers at Grandtully on the River Tay.  The RDS programme is an initiative of the Scottish Canoe Association who provide coaching as well as resource and logistical support.

Working in conjunction with local clubs who can access training sessions based at Grandtully and Aberfeldy, the RDS takes paddlers and provides a  supported pathway through to Division 1.  Access to the pathway is open to all primary aged pupils who meet the entry requirements and can get to the training sessions.
